Gavin McCoy’s story begins with his mother who grew up in Ireland. She moved from convent to convent and eventually lived with a foster family on a farm where she was repeatedly beaten and raped. Gavin was born in England where his mother eventually moved. He too experienced abuse at a young age and witnessed his mother in unhealthy relationships. He battled with drugs and alcohol as a teenager and in his adulthood was diagnosed with skin cancer. Through dedicated self-work and support from his loving family, Gavin has worked on healing. He is now an Identity Coach, and his mission is to help men who have experienced abuse and trauma and help others find their biological families. He was able to find his biological grandparents and understands how important that milestone can be for others. Gavin is a remarkable example of how you can turn your pain into power.
